Thank you Pages Bookstore for hosting Sparrow and I for a jammed pack afternoon full of fun! We had a blast!
Saturday, December 5th 2015 was a perfect day for a visit to downtown Mount Airy’s very own bookstore. Downtown Mount Airy is also known as Mayberry to those who are familiar with The Andy Griffith Show. As shoppers filled the streets to get some Christmas shopping done and visit with Santa and his reindeer, many of them stopped by to join Sparrow, myself, and my whole family for a fun-filled afternoon of arts and crafts and story time.
A look back at our afternoon of fun in a very full bookstore event:
Outside on the street and in front of PAGES BOOKSTORE.
My book signing table filled with books, binoculars making activities, coloring pages, and chocolate suckers. The train track in the background was perfect for adding to the fun!
Book events are a family event for The Chriscoe’s! I consider myself one of the luckiest writers in the world to have such a wonderful, supportive family. My family enjoys these events as much as I do and I love them all so much!
We started off the afternoon this time with some coloring and binocular making to get the kids excited before story time. I think it turned out very well. They were a super fun group.
And I even got many souvenir coloring pages to take home with me. Thank you Mason, Levi, Kamryn, Alivia, Rylan and even the older kiddos Lexi and Amber. I will cherish them always.
Sparrow and I had a wonderful group of kids and adults for story time! And the atmosphere was so kid friendly. Lots of books and toys all around!!
After story time, I had fun signing lots of books. Many of the kids even climbed on my lap for pictures. 🙂 I hope everyone enjoys them!! One of the signings was even for a library in Texas! Happy traveling Sparrow!
And at the end of the day, Sparrow, myself, and my family fluttered home feeling warm, sheltered, and full of kindness that had been given to us.
A special thank you to Sandy (owner of PAGES BOOKSTORE) for hosting, my husband for always supporting my dreams and making the binoculars for the kids. My three kids, who are the best kids in the world( yep, I am impartial:)) I am so glad that my two sons, Ricky II and Richie got to make it to this event. It made the day complete. Thank you to my son’s girlfriend, my cousin, my brother and sister in law, my mom, my great nephew and great niece (wish their mom, my niece could have made it but glad their dad brought them), the wonderful ladies and their kids from ChickFilA, families from Foothill Ford, my daughter’s Maid Of Honor and her family, and to all of the others that stopped by to join in on the fun, Sparrow and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
And of course, books would not be possible without publishers and editors. Thank you Arbordale for believing in me and Sparrow. Thank you Katie (my editor) for working with me to make this book the best it can be. And thank you Heather (my publicist) for all that you do and helping to get the word out about Sparrow. Speaking of! If anyone reads ALASKA AIRLINES magazine, Sparrow in on page 37 thanks to Heather!
Until the next event, Sparrow and I wish you warmth, shelter, and kindness.
